Real Scottish Spurtles
Real Scottish Spurtles
Spurtles originated in the Scottish Highlands in the 15th century and have since become a staple in breakfast cooking. The spurtle is a turned wooden cooking utensil designed as the ideal tool for stirring your favorite porridge or oatmeal. Where a spoon will naturally lead to clumping while stirring, the small surface area of our Scottish spurtle will keep your breakfast lump-free. Our spurtle is tapered, making it easy to hold and use for stirring cereals as well as soups, stews, and broths. The handle is in the traditional shape of a thistle, the national flower of Scotland.
Our Scottish spurtle is made from locally sourced Beech Wood from the UK and are turned and sanded to give them a smooth even finish. We strive to keep our supply chain as local as possible. Each handmade wooden Scottish spurtle tells a small part of that story. Our passion is to design cooking tools that enrich your life through time spent making delicious food, enjoying home-cooked meals, and building relationships around the dining table. All of our kitchenware products are designed and made in the USA and come with a Lifetime Guarantee.
